Taelyn, Elfra of the Golden Wood, abandoned elvish society to become one with the forest. But three hundred years later, the aesria threads become weak: she can no longer commune with the faeling, and great beasts, once friends, turn their tusks upon her. Called on by elves who have lost their magic completely, Taelyn returns to a world she does not recognize: one overrun by humans and disconnected from nature. Taelyn must uncover whatever is blocking the magic, or lose touch with her Golden Wood forever.
